What are Tithes and Offerings?

To tithe means to give a tenth. In the Old Testament, God expected the people to offer a tenth of the first gleanings of their fields and flocks to him as a sacrifice. An offering is what someone gave above the tenth. At Faith Christian Church, we expect nothing from guests or attenders who haven’t covenanted with us in membership, and we never audit our members to make sure they are giving. We want everyone to give as the Lord directs them, no matter how much or how little that is. We give our tithes and offerings as part of our worship on Sunday morning, and we plan to have an online option available soon. Give with a cheerful heart and in faith realizing the truth of Malachi 3:10 and Luke 6:38.
